Samsung HMX-F90
By Brian Jones
The F90 from Samsung is a great place to get started for someone looking to get their first camcorder, or someone looking to get one on the cheap side of things. It is a very affordable model that has an extremely powerful optical zoom that will please just about anyone looking to capture far away action. The camcorder does not record in full HD video. That makes it seem like a weak choice compared to other models, but the sensor captures an amazing picture at that resolution. Playback can be upscale to 1080i when viewed through the HDMI port to and HDTV. The zoom features on this camera are outstanding for the price point as well. 52x optical zoom with an impressive 130x digital zoom will get you as close as you want to any action you can find. The F90BN is available for $179.99 from online retailers.
