Union 4-in-1 Convertible Crib
This Union model crib has its good points but some drawbacks as well. The crib frame is made of New Zealand pine wood with a non-toxic finish free of lead and phthalate, and the mattress can be adjusted to four heights. One side of the crib can be removed when the child is old enough to outgrow a crib. It weighs only 39.6 pounds, far less than the heavy Child Craft Eastland Lifetime Crib. The crib’s design, compared to other, more ornately detailed cribs, is clean and refreshingly simple.
The price, $109.99, is affordable for families on a budget. This 4-in-1 crib is available in five attractive, soothing colors (which are also unisex). It feels sturdy when assembled as a crib; however, some users complain that it feels less so when one side is removed to form a daybed. Be aware also that converting it to a toddler bed and full-size bed requires separate conversion kits, which will add to the overall cost.
