Canon EOS 30D Review
By Brian Jones
A valuable, versatile SLR with several compatible lenses and some automatic controls for people just learning how to use to use an SLR, this Canon camera runs for $1,799.95. Its 8.2 megapixels yields sharp, clear images blown up into 16″x22″ prints. The focusing power is quite fast and impressive, providing nine focus points, and with a high shutter speed you can shoot continuously at five frames per second. Even with ISO levels at 1600 and higher, the noise is not terrible. For the manual and automatic functions it provides, it more than makes up for the high price.
Strengths
Low speed at 3 fps and high speed at 5 fps Derives its power from a lithium battery pack Yields sharp images in 16″x22″ prints 9 focus points can be selected manually or automatically Compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses CMOS sensor technology reduces noise Weaknesses Slightly heavy Some noise at highest ISO, but that’s to be expected |
