TaylorMade R11 Irons
By S. Dee Davis
The first time I picked up the TaylorMade R11 irons I though, “Wow, that thing feels good.” It’s got great distance technology built in to allow you to feel great about your length from each club. Probably one of the longest clubs on this list in terms of distance. The set comes with either graphite or steel shafts and may not have quite the consistency of some of the top blades due to a little lower quality KBS Steel shaft but it makes up for it in distance. This is really a great iron for those higher handicappers that want to better their game and get more serious. Prices have come down considerably to accommodate to around $799 a set.
Strengths
Lots of forgiveness Distance Feels great in the hand, looks great to the eye Handicap Sweet Spot: 8-20 Weaknesses Less Consistent due to shaft and cavity design Cant work the ball much Not a fan of the “adjustable” notch |
