Chicco KeyFit 30
The KeyFit 30 is designed for an infant from four to 30 pounds, and has a removable insert for newborns and smaller babies. A five-point harness keeps the child secure, and installation is made easier by bubble levels and “center pull” adjustment. To make it easier to transport the baby, the KeyFit 30 is compatible with the Chicco Cortina, Cortina Together Trevi and S3 strollers.
In case the instructions get lost or they aren’t in the box, the instruction manual is included on Chicco’s website. The instructions cover topics like how to buckle up the harnesses and latch the clips, something new parents will find reassuring. There’s even a section on installing the KeyFit 30 in an aircraft seat. Chicco doesn’t sell its products online, and shoppers are advised to check the individual retailers’ websites to make a purchase. Some of the major retailers include Wal Mart, Target, Toys “R” Us, Babies “R” Us and Burlington Coat Factory. The cost runs anywhere from $159.99 to $189.99. We gave this a review near the top of the list.

Strengths
The car seat can be used without the base if necessary. The leveling system in the seat’s base makes it easy to install. The latch system and tightening mechanism securing the baby is easy to use. Weaknesses Some consumers have noticed a bad small to the car seat after purchase. The seat has a height limit of 30 inches. Some taller infants may have trouble fitting into this car seat. Some users report the latch strap is not adjustable. Compared to other models, the canopy on the KeyFit 30 is too small and does not provide enough coverage. The seat has a straight handle, and carrying it is not as easy as carrying a seat with an angled handle. |
