"Graco

The Graco brand is one widely recognized by parents not only for its infant cribs but also its strollers and other products. The Graco Lauren Classic converts from a crib into a toddler bed when the time comes, and it has a three-position adjustable mattress. No guard rail is needed for conversion. It has stationary sides, and day bed as well as full size headboards, but the bed frame and mattress are not included. The crib is designed for children no older than age 2, and it has a weight capacity of 50 pounds.

To fit in with the décor of the nursery, this crib comes in white, walnut, natural and espresso finishes. The Lauren Classic is safe for little ones – some other Graco cribs, toys and baby products have recall histories, but this isn’t one of them. For all these features, the cost is between $142.49 and $185.99. That’s a good price when comparing this to other, trendier cribs that are more expensive.

Strengths

This particular crib is safety certified by the Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association, the American Society for Testing and Materials and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

It has a five-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects, better than some brands that only offer a one-year warranty.

The price is reasonable, especially considering the crib is convertible and will last through infancy.

    Weaknesses

Some consumers report the wood is so soft, it chips and dents easily.

Others complain the crib’s construction is shoddy and cheap.
