"Harmony

Another strong contender in the booster seat arena is the Harmony Juvenile Dreamtime Comfort booster, with a whole host of endorsements. This sleek number exceeds U.S. federal motor vehicle safety standards and received a 2008-2010 Australia RTA Four-Star Rating. It was an IIHS 2010 and 2011 Best Bet and the winner in the 2008 Consumer CHOICE Award and the 2009 JPMA Innovation Award. This seat can be converted to a backless booster, and if anything goes wrong in the first year, it comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s limited warranty.

The Harmony Dreamtime Comfort fits children ages 3-10 and weighing 30 through 110 pounds. It offers full body front, rear and side impact protection for maximum safety for the head, body and legs. Its integrated ergonomic head support keeps the child’s head from falling forward when sleeping in the seat. The Dreamtime Comfort’s seven-position height adjustable headrest extends to 31 inches to accommodate growing children. It has anti-torque design to minimize the chance of injury in a crash and the seat’s belt path is designed to prevent little occupants from sliding under the lap belt on impact. This seat retails for about $50.

Strengths

The recognition it has received – from IIHS, JPMA and Consumer Choice – is impressive.

It meets or exceeds U.S. as well as international safety standards.

The extending headrest is great for parents of kids tall for their age.

The safety factor is kicked up a few notches with the anti-torque design and extra impact protection.

    Weaknesses

There’s no overview anywhere on the labeling explaining how to install the seat.

It requires assembly but no helpful illustrations are provided on the labels to explain how to convert it from a high-back to a backless seat.

Some users report the seat padding is thin and inadequate.
