"TitleistSurprisingly, the Titleist ProV1 despite all its success is just barely a 3 layer construction ball with a large single core solid polybutadien inner ball core. It has a very thin Ionomer casing layer which the urethane elastomer cover layers. So, you would think this is not a soft ball, but it turns out to be one of the softest you can find and holds greens the best of any ball we test. It holds a spin. It’s also still long, but not up there with the longest balls on the market from Bridgestone. It has a higher number of dimples than the ProV1x – 352, but less dimple types at 5. Anyone who has ever played it will tell you that it has amazing feel around the greens. I use it any time a course has hard fast greens.

Prices range from $39 to $58.

Weaknesses

Fairly expensive

Less durable and long lasting than most balls

May produce too much spin for higher handicap golfers
