With 1800 PSI, the Karcher 1.418-050.0 electric pressure washer has enough power to handle most light-duty cleaning tasks. The motor runs incredibly quietly, so no need for earphones. While as an electric pressure washer it does not have quite as much oomph as a gas power washer, this Karcher model still has great durability and satisfactory performance. It comes with a variable pressure wand and a DirtBlaster spray wand that increases the pressure. One issue we had with the pressure washer was inability to stand upright, which makes it bulkier for storage purposes. However, for the price, this Karcher model offers quality and durability.

We were impressed by the well thought out design of the Generac 6549, which with its horizontal engine design takes up very little room. Despite its compact design, this gas pressure washer packs a great punch. It starts up easily with just one or two pulls, and with its large gas tank it can run for long periods. This makes it perfectly suited for big cleaning jobs, particularly with its 2,800 PSI and 2.5 GPM. We also liked how the controls were located in the same easily accessible spot, and how the attachments fit onto the unit nicely. For a powerful pressure washer, this Generac model is easy to maneuver and has a sturdy construction.

For the amazingly low price of $99.98, the Greenworks 51142 handles light-duty outdoor cleaning tasks very well. The motor runs quietly, which is a nice bonus. We were satisfied with the on-board tool storage and the stable design of the unit—the low, sturdy base prevents this unit from falling over as you roll it. The telescopic handle aids in maneuvering the unit, and the pressure washer can also be stored on hooks in a garage. If you’re looking for a strong, durable pressure washer that’s not so powerful it will damage painted surfaces, then you’ll be pleased with this Greenworks model.

One of the best features of the Husqvarna 020490 Gas Pressure Washer is the three-gallon fuel tank, which allows you to run the machine for longer periods without having to stop and refuel. The Briggs & Stratton OHV engine runs quietly and smoothly and starts up easily with just a pull or two. We were pleased with the solid construction and design, such as the sturdy wheels and frame and the fold-down handle which has three positions. Also, the nozzle attachments connect easily with just a click and twist motion. Overall, we were more than satisfied with the performance and quality of this gas-powered Husqvarna pressure washer.

One of the special features of the Troy-Bilt 020568 we noticed quickly was the fold-down handle, which enables easy, convenient storage. Additionally, the trigger is easy to pull. With 2800 PSI, this pressure washer has incredible pressure, allowing you to cut through grime and dirt with ease. We also appreciated how quickly the engine starts up, usually on the first or second pull, thanks to the ReadyStart feature, and the design is well thought out. Moving the pressure washer doesn’t require bending over, and the large, wide wheels help it roll easily. With its high performance, the $299 price is a fair value.

A pressure washer makes the task of keeping the exterior of your house clean incredibly easier, but there are risks involved in using a powerful piece of machinery. Make sure you follow the following safety tips to prevent injury to you (and to your pressure washer):

1. Read the owner’s manual. Be familiar with the correct procedures for starting up and operating the machine.

2. Wear protective gear, including goggles and thick gloves. Non-slip shoes are recommended because the ground can quickly become wet and slick.

3. Be careful to avoid burns. Don’t touch the engine while it’s running, and wait until the pressure washer has cooled down before putting it away in your shed or garage.

4. Do not use a gas-powered pressure washer inside the house (unless you want to tear your house apart).

5. Do not aim the pressure washer at windows, as they can break under the extreme pressure.

6. Do not use the pressure washer while standing on a ladder. The force of the stream could knock you back.

7. Engage the safety lock as you change nozzle tips.

8. Before detaching the hose, turn the machine and the water source off and spray the trigger to release built-up pressure in the pressure washer system.

9. This goes without saying, but it bears mentioning: never aim a pressure washer at a person or animal.

The 205cc horizontal motor of this Briggs &Stratton pressure washer runs smoothly and starts up easily with just a couple pulls. The strength of the spray is more than adequate to handle tough cleaning projects—it cuts through thick grime in an efficient manner. We were happy with the long, 30 ft. hose, which makes it easy to reach up high when washing siding. The one issue we had with the pressure washer is that it can be cumbersome to move around. However, the construction appears to be solid and durable; the four spray tips work well and are easy to attach, making the Briggs & Stratton 75298 a versatile, valuable tool.

The Simpson Megashot MSH3125-S boasts a Honda GC190 engine, a sturdy metal frame with 10-inch tires, and 3,100 PSI of pressure power. It starts easily with just a pull or two. We were impressed by the washing power and the smoothness of the engine. The machine does vibrate and make a good bit of noise while in use, but the spray handle is comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver. If you want to power wash the siding of your house, you’ll be pleased with how high the wands reach, keeping you from needing an extension assembly. Be prepared for the massive power of this machine; it will cut down on cleaning time.

A compact, lightweight gas-powered pressure washer, the Stanley P2750S makes light work of cutting through grime and dirt. It packs 2,750 PSI and 2.5 GPM, giving it great cleaning power. We liked that it required little assembly and started up quickly with no trouble. The pressure washer doesn’t roll, but a wheel kit is sold separately. It’s also surprisingly quiet, and there are few vibrations thanks to an integrated engine and pump design. The variable spray eliminates the need for changing out spray tips, making it easier and quicker to use.
