Its range of features is impressive: an allergen cycle, sensors that detect suds, and a whites wash that ensures all the detergent chlorine is rinsed away. This washing machine has one of the largest drum capacities we’ve seen, large enough for comforters, sleeping bags, and whatever else you may have to wash–in fact, its manufacturers boast that it’s large enough to wash 29 towels in one go. The maximum spin cycle speed clocks in at an impressive 1400RPMs. This very nearly gets the clothes dry before they even go to the washer. This is an important aspect of the energy saving measures this front load washing machine uses.

This compact Bosch Ascenta 300 front-loading washing machine is Energy Star rated for high efficiency. Its load sensing technology prevents you from wasting unnecessary water. The spin cycle is so effective that clothes come out almost completely dry. We also appreciated the sanitary cycle, which leaves clothes extra clean and disinfected. Sleek and modern-looking, this washer has excellent performance. It’s also a pretty energy-efficient washer. It costs an average of $14 in electricity to operate it for one year. That’s an average, but it’s going to be a cheap appliance to run regardless. If your current washer is an electricity hog, the high price of the Bosch WAP24200UC will pay off in the long run.

Available in a cheerful red, the Samsung WF331AN has such a large drum that you can reduce the number of loads you have to wash and save energy. The steam technology breaks down tough stains and saves you extra work. We were pleased with the PureCycle that self-cleans the drum, so you don’t have to purchase extra chemicals to break down soapy build-up. It has a maximun spin cycle speed of 1200RPMS, which is a norm for many front load washing machines, that takes a large amount of water out of clothes so the drying cycle is significantly reduced. There are 11 preset washing cycles on this machine that include: permanent press, heavy duty, sanitize, bedding, deep steam, wool, and quick wash to name a few.

One of the many convenient features we appreciated in the Whirlpool WFW94HEAW is the digital countdown display that shows you exactly how much time left you have on the cycle. This Whirlpool has many other handy features that justify its slightly higher price. For instance, with 12 cycles, you can be certain that everything you own—from bulky comforters and jackets to delicate items—will be thoroughly cleaned in the 4.3 cubic foot drum. The machine also boasts smart temperature controls that reduce the risk of shrinking your clothes or making the colors bleed into each other. We were impressed with the Whirlpool’s overall performance and recommend it for large households.

It provides numerous options, including delicate, allergen, and cold wash cycles and an adjustable spin speed. The spin cycle has a max speed of 1200RPMs that gets most of the water out before they go to the dryer. The result is a much shorter dry time. The steam cycle is used for a deep clean that leaves clothes feeling fresh. A load can finish in 27 minutes, and even the toughest stains come out easily with this washer. Best of all, it operates quietly with minimal vibrations.

With advanced steam technology, this LG washer penetrates deep into clothes to remove the toughest stains. It has 9 cycles for any type of cleaning need, such as bulky, hand wash, speed wash, and sanitary; it even includes a tub clean cycle to keep its stainless steel tub in peak shape. While we noticed the wash cycles take quite a while to complete, the large capacity of the washer will cut down on the number of loads overall. With quiet, smooth performance and convenient controls, the LG WM3250HRA is a great deal at $799.99.

The capacious 4.0 cubic foot, stainless steel drum is large enough for large, bulky loads, including comforters. We were pleased with its ability to root out tough grass stains, thanks in part to its powerful motor (1,200 rpm). Besides its superior performance, this LG model has a sleek design and easy-to-use controls with an LED display. If you plan to get a lot of use out of your washing machine, the LG WM3050CW is not a bad choice.

A compact front loading washing machine at 24 inches, the LG WM1355HW is highly efficient and features a special sanitizing cycle to eradicate germs. Its delicate cycle treats fabric gently but still gets out stains and odors effectively. This front load washing machine does have the ability to be stacked with a dryer for the ultimate in space saving. The maximum spin cycle speed of 1300RPMs is really impressive and gets your clothes ready for a very short dry cycle. We were impressed by its compact yet still roomy size, its quiet performance, and its effortless ability to get clothes fresh with minimal water and detergent.

This 27 inch front loading washing machine from Samsung features vibration reduction technology to keep it from shaking the whole house. With its spacious drum, it can easily clean a comforter, and its automatic dispensers make the laundry process easier for you. There are only 6 different cycles to choose from in this washer, so you don’t get the wide range of selection like some of the other washers out there. This front load washing machine does have automatic load balancing which is an exceptional feature that keeps the unit running quietly. For such a reasonable price, this washing machine offers superb cleaning performance and convenient features.

This Frigidaire washer is energy and water efficient, offering three soil level options so you can choose the optimal cycle for getting out tough stains. Additionally, we were impressed with the washing machine’s quiet operation and minimal vibrations; you won’t mind having this machine on a floor with bedrooms. At $699.99, it’s a great value for the average family.

The Frigidaire Affinity Series FAFS4073N and the Samsung WF210ANW are two front loading washing machines ranked highly for their performance and capacity. They are also similar in price. We will compare these two washing machines in other qualities to see how they stack up against each other.

As far as capacity goes, the two washing machines are close in size, but the Frigidaire model is a tad larger at 3.8 cubic feet compared to the Samsung model’s 3.5 cubic feet. That’s not a huge difference, but it could make it easier to wash bedding and other bulky items.

The Frigidaire model also comes out ahead for energy efficiency. It’s not only Energy Star rated, it’s also rated the most efficient washing machine of 2012 by Energy Star. The Samsung model is Energy Star compliant. Efficiency is important not only for the environment, but also because it saves you money on your energy bill and requires less detergent to get clothes clean.

Both models are similar in vibration reduction, but the Frigidaire model has 10 wash cycles compared to the Samsung model’s 6. Additionally, the Frigidaire model comes in 3 color options: white, red, or silver. Color may not be the greatest deciding factor, but it makes a difference if you’re tired of plain white appliances.

Ultimately, the Frigidaire Affinity Series FAFS4073N offers more than the Samsung WF210ANW in terms of features, energy efficiency, and capacity.
